Cali, April 2023 – The Colombian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (ACE) will host the 17th EndoCongress – Colombian Congress of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from April 27 to 30, 2023, at the Valle del Pacífico Events Center in Cali. This event is expected to gather more than 2,500 general practitioners, specialists, and other healthcare professionals interested in endocrinology, showcasing why it is one of the most dynamic, innovative, and continually evolving medical fields.
“We aim to bring endocrine knowledge to general practitioners, internists, family doctors, and other specialists who daily treat patients with endocrine diseases. In this congress, which is one of the most important in the region, we will update the prevention, diagnosis, and management of endocrine diseases affecting the population,” said Dr. Henry Tovar, president of ACE.
The Colombian Congress of Endocrinology has become a reference academic activity for doctors throughout Latin America. The scientific quality of the program, the national and international experts leading it, the interest it generates among specialists from related fields, and the growing foreign participation are some of the reasons why this academic meeting is highly recognized in the health sector.
“The main objective of this event is to highlight the work of Colombian researchers because Colombia has been a hub for studies since the colonial era, and this has inspired our motto, From Colombia for Everyone, promoting our own,” stated Dr. Monica Barraza, endocrinologist and president of the 17th EndoCongress.
Additionally, this significant congress features more than 15 top-tier international speakers and key opinion leaders in Colombia. Healthcare professionals will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the most important advances in the specialty and take a practical look at controversial topics within endocrinology.
About the Colombian Association of Endocrinology
The Colombian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (ACE) is a non-profit entity of general interest composed of healthcare professionals specializing in endocrinology or related fields. Its organization, direction, and operation are governed by statutes, regulations, and legal provisions in force in Colombia.
Endocrinology is a branch of medicine that studies internal secretion glands. Endocrine glands are organs that produce chemical substances called hormones, which are incorporated into the body through the circulatory system. These highly active biological substances regulate all metabolic processes in the body and are therefore indispensable for maintaining life. Endocrinologists treat diseases such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, cholesterol issues, menopause, and more.
